My current Apple × Aqara setup

My current Apple × Aqara setup is built around three Aqara hubs (M3, M2, and M100) that integrate seamlessly with Apple HomeKit. These hubs connect and manage a variety of Aqara devices across my home:

  • Sensors: 6 Window Contact Sensors, 3 Temperature & Humidity Sensors, and 2 Motion & Light P2 Sensors provide real-time monitoring of the environment and security status.
  • Security & Access: An Aqara Smart Lock U200 works with Apple Home Key, enabling secure entry through the Apple Wallet and full integration with automations in the Home app.
  • Controls & Switches: 4 Wall Switches H1 and 1 Cube Switch allow both traditional and smart control of lighting and scenes.
  • Camera: An Aqara G2H camera integrates with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, enabling private, encrypted video storage in iCloud.

All these devices are accessible in the Apple Home app, where they are grouped into automations and scenes. For example, motion or door sensors can trigger lights through the H1 switches, temperature sensors can control heating/cooling, and the U200 lock can be included in “Goodnight” or “Away” scenes.

In daily use, this Apple × Aqara ecosystem works smoothly: Aqara devices provide the wide range of sensors and controls, while Apple Home centralizes everything into a secure, privacy-focused smart home experience.
