Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with setting up the WYZE SENSE sensors and motion detectors. It was a bit of a learning curve, but I thought I’d document it in case anyone else runs into similar issues.
So, after a week of waiting, my WYZE SENSE package finally arrived. I was super excited to get everything set up as quickly as possible. I had read online that you need to stick a tiny silver pin into the sensor or detector and wait for it to flash three times. I followed the instructions, but… nothing happened. I tried the pin on two different sensors and a motion detector, and none of them flashed.
After some frustration, I decided to actually read the manual (I know, I know, I should have done that first). Turns out there are two similar holes on each device, and I had been sticking the pin in the wrong one the whole time! Once I used the correct hole, everything paired up perfectly. My little red lights were in the wrong spot, but thankfully, sticking the pin in the wrong hole didn’t cause any damage.
So, my advice is: RTFM. The correct hole is clearly illustrated in the manual, and taking the time to read it would have saved me a lot of hassle. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistake!
