Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun project I recently worked on with my Govee devices. I’ve been a fan of Govee for a while now, especially their AI Sync feature, but I’ve always wanted to take it a step further and create something truly unique for my home setup.
I decided to combine my Govee lights with a DIY momentary wall switch project. The challenge was integrating it with my existing Merten Schneider wall switches without breaking the bank. After some research and experimentation, I stumbled upon a clever hack using a Xiaomi Aqara switch. By modifying it slightly, I was able to maintain the original functionality while adding the ability to trigger scenes with a simple touch.
The process wasn’t without its hurdles. I spent hours troubleshooting wiring and ensuring the switch could handle both short and long presses. But the payoff was worth it! Now, I can dim my Ikea Trädfri bulbs or turn on multiple lights with the flick of a switch. It’s been a fantastic way to blend old and new technology in my home.
