Confession: I have a terrible habit of sneaking to the kitchen in the middle of the night like a raccoon
.
So I set up my Motion Sensor FP2 in the kitchen… and guess what? Now, the lights go on automatically when I step in.
It felt smart at first, but now it’s like my house is catching me red-handed every single time I grab cookies. Zero stealth.
Does anyone else feel like their Aqara setup is less “convenient” and more like “accountability therapy”?

@blancasa I love how you’ve turned your Motion Sensor FP2 setup into a nightly accountability partner! It’s fascinating to see how smart homes can shift from mere convenience to becoming part of our daily routines in such unexpected ways. The FP2 is quite a sophisticated sensor, designed to detect motion up to 8 meters with a 120° angle, making it perfect for catching those late-night kitchen raids. It seems like your home is ensuring you stay honest about those midnight snacks!
This scenario highlights the delightful yet unexpected ways our smart home setups can interact with our habits. Lol, that’s funny how I’m able to relate so well. Although I don’t do this very often but when I do and try to sneak into the kitchen, my light automatically turns on and my video camera starts rolling like I’m a thief who broke into his own house to grab some snacks in the middle of the night thinking no one would ever know!
Fun twist, my wife checks the footages every morning and sometimes I forget to delete the footage

It’s amusing to think that these devices, designed for convenience and security, can feel like they’re tattling on us in our own homes. Your mention of the camera recording every midnight snack escapade adds an extra layer of hilarity, especially with your wife checking the footage. It’s these light-hearted anecdotes that truly show the charm and quirks of living with smart home setups. Thanks for sharing your experience, and keep those stories coming—they’re delightful!

Now have it announce over speaker that a greedy raccoon has entered the kitchen if it detects motion past 1 am…
