My Journey Integrating Vera Edge and Global Cache

I’ve been on an exciting journey integrating my Vera Edge system with Global Cache, and I wanted to share my experiences and tips with the community. :star2:

After setting up my Vera Edge, I quickly realized the potential to expand its capabilities by integrating it with Global Cache. However, the process wasn’t without its hurdles. Initially, I struggled with linking the Global Cache ITach to Hubitat, but after some research and reaching out to the community, I found a workaround that involved using the Normal Stuff Library. This experience taught me the importance of community support and the wealth of knowledge available here. :bulb:

One of the most satisfying parts of this integration was setting up my thermostat automation. I opted for the Heatit Z-Wave thermostat, which has been a reliable choice. It’s been a breeze to integrate with Vera, and the API support has been a game-changer for creating custom scenes. :stop_sign:

I also wanted to mention the challenge of setting up notifications on Vera. Initially, I faced issues where notifications were being sent to both my wife’s and my phones, but after some tinkering, I managed to configure them to send only to my device. This was a crucial step in ensuring a seamless experience. :iphone:

This journey has been a fantastic learning experience, and I’m excited to continue exploring the possibilities with Vera and Global Cache. If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help! :speech_balloon:

Let’s keep the discussions flowing and support each other in our smart home journeys! :rocket:
