My Journey to a Fully Connected Home

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up a fully connected home using a mix of devices and platforms. It’s been a fascinating journey, and I’d love to hear how others have approached similar projects!

I started with the basics—installing smart lights, plugs, and a thermostat. The challenge came when I wanted to integrate everything seamlessly. I’ve been using OpenHAB for a while now, and while it’s powerful, getting everything to work together took some trial and error.

One of the biggest hurdles was connecting my Philips Hue bulbs with the astro binding to create automated lighting schedules based on sunrise and sunset times. After some research and tweaking, I managed to set up a system that adjusts the color temperature and brightness throughout the day. It’s amazing how much this small change has improved my daily routine!

I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated multiple devices or platforms. What tips or tricks have you found most helpful? Any favorite resources or guides for getting started with OpenHAB or similar platforms?

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
