My Journey with Govee RGBIC Lights: A House Divided by Color

I’ve always been that person who gets a little too excited about the latest smart home gadgets. My husband? Well, let’s just say he’s more of the practical type. But when it comes to Govee’s RGBIC lights, I’ve managed to convert even the most skeptical of partners into a believer. Here’s how it all went down.

It started innocently enough. I bought two sets of Govee’s RGBIC lights for our downstairs TV room. My husband rolled his eyes, but who can blame him? It was my money, and he’s not one for flashy gadgets. But then something unexpected happened—he started liking them. Not just a little, but genuinely appreciating how they transformed the space.

Now, here’s where things got interesting. I wanted more. Three sets, to be exact. But Govee says you can only have 20 panels on one power cord. Three sets of 7 panels each? That’s 21. Oops. But I wasn’t deterred. I decided to use the extra panel in a way that would truly wow my husband.

I approached him hesitantly with the idea of installing more lights in our main upstairs living room. To do this, we’d need to move a large display cabinet, unscrew it, and make space above it. I wasn’t sure he’d be on board, but to my surprise, he loved the idea. In fact, he took a few days off work in April to help me install them without feeling rushed.

Fast forward to today, and we’re the proud owners of five sets of Govee RGBIC lights. My husband, the same man who used to roll his eyes at every new gadget I brought home, is now enthusiastically helping me install them and even took time off work to make it happen. It’s a testament to how these lights have brought a little more color—and joy—into our home.

So, to all the skeptics out there, I say this: sometimes, a little splash of color can work wonders. And if you’re lucky, it might just bring your entire family together in the most unexpected ways. Now, who’s ready for a light show?
