Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my recent experience integrating several smart home devices from different brands into my ecosystem. It’s been quite a learning curve, but also incredibly rewarding!
I’ve been using Govee lights for a while now, and I must say, their RGBW bulbs are a game-changer for creating ambiance. However, I recently stumbled upon a challenge with their app. I heard you can redeem points for free products, but I’m not entirely sure how the redemption process works. If anyone has successfully done this, I’d love to hear your tips! 
On the backup front, I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to safeguard my smart home configurations. I noticed some discussions about taking snapshots versus backups. I tried setting up a backup on my Vera Lite, but I’m still unclear on how snapshots differ and if they’re necessary for my setup. Has anyone had success with snapshots specifically?
Another project I’ve been working on is connecting my Wyze cameras to my Raspberry Pi-based Home Assistant setup. I’ve noticed some quirks with the Android app, especially in landscape mode. It disconnects randomly, which is frustrating. I’ve managed to work around it by using the iOS app, but I’d love to hear if others have found a fix for the Android version.
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom automations using Zigbee2MQTT. It’s been a bit of a puzzle, especially with setting up group controls for my blinds. I’ve got them working individually, but grouping them for simultaneous control has been tricky. Any advice from more experienced users would be greatly appreciated!
