After a power outage, one of my Shelly switches stopped responding. I quickly discovered that enabling the ‘Soft Reboot When WiFi Connection is Lost’ option in the Shelly settings resolved the issue. This feature has been a lifesaver, as it eliminates the need for manual resets. ### Alexa and Spotify: A Match Made in Smart Home HeavenOne of the highlights of my setup has been integrating Alexa with Spotify. Initially, I faced some challenges getting the two to work together, but after reaching out to the community, I found that the issue was resolved by ensuring both apps were updated and the correct permissions were set. Now, I can control my Spotify playlists directly through Alexa, which has completely transformed how I enjoy music at home. ### Lessons Learned and Tips- Backup Your Configurations: I learned the hard way to always keep a backup of my SmartThings configurations. A recent firmware update on my Hubitat hub caused some devices to disconnect, and having a backup saved me hours of troubleshooting. - Experiment with Automation: Don’t be afraid to dive into automation. I created a simple routine where my lights dim and my TV turns on when I say, “Alexa, good evening.” It’s these small automations that make your smart home truly feel like home. ### Looking AheadI’m eager to explore more integrations, especially with Matter-enabled devices.
