My Journey with Sonoff SV and Sol-Ark Integration

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my experience with integrating the Sonoff SV and Sol-Ark 12K into my smart home setup. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m thrilled with the results so far!

Sonoff SV Power Through Doorbell
I’ve been experimenting with the Sonoff SV for powering a dumb doorbell system. Initially, I was a bit puzzled because it didn’t work as expected. I tried everything from adjusting the voltage to checking the wiring, but nothing seemed to click. After some research and reaching out to the community, I realized I needed to ensure the voltage range was compatible with the doorbell’s requirements. Once I got that sorted, it worked like a charm! It’s amazing how a small tweak can make such a big difference.

Sol-Ark 12K Integration
On the other hand, my Sol-Ark 12K integration has been a true game-changer. I built a custom WiFi interface using an Arduino Nano 33 IoT to connect the Sol-Arks via RS-485 and send data to my MQTT server. This setup allows me to monitor my solar energy production and battery levels in real-time. The integration with Home Assistant is seamless, and I can now visualize all the data on a 7-inch tablet in my kitchen. It’s incredibly satisfying to see everything working together smoothly!

Lessons Learned
Both projects taught me the importance of thorough research and community support. I couldn’t have figured out the Sonoff SV issue without the help of fellow enthusiasts. It’s also been a great reminder that even though smart home tech can sometimes feel overwhelming, persistence pays off.

If anyone has questions about their own projects or needs advice, feel free to reach out! I’d love to help others navigate the exciting world of smart home automation. :rocket:
