I’ve been using a mix of Philips Hue lights, Amazon Echo devices, and some Z-Wave sensors. One of the key tips I discovered was the importance of a reliable Z-Wave repeater. I installed a GE/Jasco In-Wall Switch (14291) which not only acted as a repeater but also boosted the overall performance of my mesh network. This made a significant difference in the reliability of my system.
Another thing I found useful was setting up a consistent naming convention for all my devices. It might seem trivial, but having organized names really helps when managing automations and scenes. I also recommend checking the firmware of your devices regularly—updating them can often resolve unexpected issues.
