My Successful Integration of NETGEAR RBR50 with HA

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my experience with integrating the NETGEAR RBR50 (Orbi750) into my Home Assistant setup. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m thrilled with the results! :tada:

Initially, I faced some challenges. Under the devices section, I noticed that some connected devices appeared as “unknown”. This was a bit confusing, but after some research and trial and error, I figured out that this happens because the device names aren’t properly recognized by HA. I found a workaround by manually updating the device names in the configuration, which solved the issue!

Another hurdle was the duplication of entities like “Access point mac” and “link rate”. I was concerned this might complicate my setup, but I discovered that these duplications are actually helpful for monitoring different aspects of my network. By using the entity IDs, I can easily differentiate between them and set up specific automations for each.

Here’s a quick tip for anyone facing similar issues: Always check the entity IDs and use them to your advantage. You can also create custom names or labels in the Lovelace dashboard to make things more organized!

Now, my setup is running smoothly, and I can monitor my network performance in real-time. It’s amazing how much insight this integration provides! I can track data usage, manage connected devices, and even set up automations based on network activity.

If you’re considering integrating your NETGEAR router with HA, I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but the benefits are well worth it! :bulb:

Any questions or suggestions? I’d love to hear from you!
