Hi Aqara friends,
I was fortunate to get a coupon for the u400 And I wasn’t going to get one because I’m kind of going to Cancun here on the 30th and I could use the money for that, but I’m a sucker for new tech lol LMAO 
. I’m going to be honest I wasn’t really expecting the Best overall experience from the u400 Because it just got released. and just from experience in the past with other newly released Aqara products they are usually very buggy. So I wasn’t expecting everything to not be working as intended. But I do know that Aqara will get it right and fixed and get everything working like it should.
So my experience with installing u400 to the door was great and very easy, it literally took me 6 minutes. 10/10 for installation
But once I got to the app and matter setup is where I started running into roadblock after roadblock after roadblock. First Roadblock was Bluetooth did not want to connect I had to stand literally a foot away from the u400. After that I couldn’t set up a admin password or fingerprint, It just kept failing. After getting past that Roadblock the next roadblock was trying to connect the u400 to my M3 through matter. But after doing a power cycle to my router and all my hubs I was able to set-up the u400 with the Aqara app and the M3. Next problem was when I connected it to SmartThings a lot of features and settings didn’t pop up so I had to reset my smart things hub and after that I finally got the passcode and connection path setting to appear. And then the next problem I was having was with the battery charging very slow and wasn’t synchronizing with any app or hub. So I did another power cycle and after that everything seems to have settled in and is working properly The only thing that is still giving me problems is the gyro it keeps saying unknown status Even after multiple calibrations. And lastly I haven’t tried the UWB feature because I don’t have an iPhone but I believe smart things has a UWB setting called connection path but that doesn’t seem to be working right now.
So I’m not going to declare this as a bad experience because I kind of was expecting this to happen, so I’m not going to hold it against the u400 because I know aqara will eventually get all these bugs and problems fixed and the u400 will be a work horse like my u50.
