N200 Lock & M2/M3 Hub Pairing Issues for Remote Unlock

Hello everyone,

I have a rather specific problem with our Aqara N200 lock, which is installed on the main door of our business. I would greatly appreciate your help.

The Goal: We need to be able to unlock the door remotely from an upper floor (outside of Bluetooth range), as the person who grants access works far from the entrance.

What I’ve tried: Initially, the lock only worked with Bluetooth. After some research, I understood I needed a hub for remote access. Believing this was the solution, I have now purchased both an M2 and an M3 Hub. I’ve set up both hubs correctly in the Aqara Home app, selecting the correct server.

However, this is where I’m completely stuck: when I try to add the N200 lock to either hub, the app simply cannot find it. I have tried putting the lock into its pairing mode multiple times, with the hub physically right next to the door, but with no success. It seems to be invisible to the hubs, even though I know it’s a Zigbee device.

My Question to Resolve: Help, please. Is there a special trick, procedure, or requirement that I might be overlooking to pair the N200 lock with the M2/M3 hubs? Could this be a region compatibility issue (e.g., a Mainland China lock with a Global hub)?

Is there any other option I could consider to achieve remote unlocking with this product? Are there any alternative configurations or software solutions that are known to work?

I appreciate in advance any help or advice you can provide. This is a crucial step for our office’s operations.

Regards.

Hello @pirulo_home

The N200 lock only supports BT 5.0 (Bluetooth).

Remote unlocking is only possible via HK and probably Mi Home. For Homekit, you’ll need an Apple smart home hub. I can’t recommend Mi Home as I don’t use a Xiaomi Home.

Hi, of course. I’m aware that it unlocks with Bluetooth. I had previously configured it on a Xiaomi Mi Home, but recently I wanted to reset it to try HomeKit. Apple also didn’t give me many configuration options and asked me to pair it with Mi Home. However, let’s say I have it configured in both apps.
Now, if I buy an Apple hub like a HomePod Mini, would I be able to use the remote unlocking I’m looking for? In fact, I don’t even consider it remote since what I’m looking for is to open the door from the same building, just extending the range between me and the door.

Have you used this lock?
