Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent adventure with syncing my Nanoleaf Rhythm and Sengled multicolor bulbs. It’s been a journey, but I’m thrilled to say it’s working beautifully now!
I recently purchased the Nanoleaf Rhythm and was blown away by the vibrant scenes it creates. My goal was to extend this experience throughout my room by syncing it with my Sengled bulbs. Initially, I wasn’t sure if this was possible since I’m using a SmartThings hub and the Sengled bulbs come with their own hub. I’ve heard great things about the Nanoleaf integration with Philips Hue, but I really wanted to stick with my Sengled setup.
I started by exploring the IFTTT platform, which has a recipe for syncing Nanoleaf with Hue bulbs. While this was helpful, I wasn’t ready to invest in a new Hue system. I then looked into WebCore and Raspberry Pi solutions, but they felt a bit too complex for my current setup. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that using the SmartThings hub alone could handle the syncing through some clever rule creation.
Here’s what worked for me: I used the SmartThings app to create a rule that triggers the Sengled bulbs to change colors in sync with the Nanoleaf scenes. It took a bit of tweaking, but I finally got the timing just right. Now, when I activate a scene on my Nanoleaf, my entire room lights up in perfect harmony!
