We have already installed several Aqara U200 locks in our house at different locations — all without a hub and without using Matter — and they have been working fine.
Recently, we bought two additional U200 units, but both of them can only be recognized via the Matter code when scanning the barcode. The previous installation method (non-Matter, no hub) no longer works. The bar code scan does not work the way it did before. It simply cant be scanned and installed. We tried with 3 differen u200’s and several phones. the devices simply cannot be added.
Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? We do not want to use Matter — we just want to allow our guests to enter the apartments via PIN codes, as before.
We’ve been struggling for weeks to install multiple devices, and it’s becoming quite frustrating. We’re even considering switching away from Aqara if this cannot be resolved.

When you start, do you see the U200 at the beginning in the accessories list comes up on the right top and you can add by Magic pair?
No we dont see any devices, also if we reset or install another U200. The only Bar Code who finds devices is Matter - which we dont use. We are simply not able to connect via Barcode inside the app, also if I use the Code on the Barcode - it doesnt work at all.
Thats why we ask for help here, since we didnt have this issue with 6 other U200’s we use inside the house.
We tried different devices downloading the app and tried to connect, the Bar codes simply dont work - not inside the app or with photos via the phones themselves.
So we tried Manual connecting and used the Numbers written beneath the Bar code, nothing works.
OK that’s strange. Normally it should pop up.

When you start the process - just press the Set button on the lock- then the U200 should appear by Magic pair
The apartment is rented to guests now. But thats exactly what I did. I also reset the u200 several times. On the pics you provided you can see the bar code of “aqara” that could not be found be the app. If i use photo on any device, Matter barcode will be found, aqara wont.
It happened with 2 different u200’s
when I started to ask several AI’s they told me sometimes the key used is too small and somehow the u200 is in a “mechanical search mode” so it wont be able to use Bluetooth.
Of course I tied the “set” button, and I also reset the whole thing several times. We are used to have problems with these things and need to reset it sometimes, but this is quite strange - since it happened with 2 newly purchased u200’s
I have the same issue. The u200 doesn’t appear automatically and the manual pairing results in a “not found” message. Bluetooth is on and I am connected to the home WiFi.
Same with me, i had no time to make a video, went back to oldschool keybox for now. I dont know whats the issue with these new Devices, it was not working with 2 of them.
