I am using an Aqara Touchscreen Dial V1 and a Hub S1 Plus. The Hub S1 Plus is successfully integrated into Home Assistant (HA) via Matter.
The Problem:
The Touchscreen Dial V1 is not visible in Home Assistant.
The Dial V1 does not appear as a child device under the Hub S1 Plus in the Aqara App.
My Goal (Local Control):
I want to make the Touchscreen Dial V1 visible in HA and, most importantly, ensure it is controllable when there is no internet access.
My Suspected Cause:
Based on my research, I believe the Touchscreen Dial V1 is currently connecting directly to the Aqara cloud via Wi-Fi. I am concerned that controlling my home lighting is routing through external servers.
My Request:
Can anyone provide steps or confirmation on how to pair the Touchscreen Dial V1 as a child device of the Hub S1 Plus? This is necessary to facilitate local communication (LAN control) and expose the device to Home Assistant via the Hub’s Matter bridge.
Any assistance with achieving true local control and HA visibility would be greatly appreciated!
So my V1 Display is connected to my S1 Plus via Zigbee. My S1 Plus and V1 Display both appear in MA using Matter but not HomeKit (unsure why). Both of these devices are powered from the lighting circuit.
I also have an M3 that’s powered by POE from the Sockets circuit.
Recently, the sockets power circuit tripped.

The lighting directly connected to the S1 Plus
The lighting directly connected to the V1 Display
But not the lighting directly connected to the V1 Display from the S1 Plus. This made me think the S1 Plus needs Wifi or connection to the Internet to communicate with the V1 Display. I thought that was the whole point of local Zigbee?
Touchscreen V1 hasnt zigbee. WiFi only. But i do not uderstand why it not talks with Aqara Hub via LAN. I whant to cut instant access to internet for Aqara devices, but now i cant.
