Hi everyone, I’m reaching out for some guidance on setting up my Nest thermostat with a central boiler system in my condo building. My parents’ building has a central boiler with a valve in each unit’s furnace room, and the Nest has been installed for about three years. However, it seems like the thermostat has been programmed with 100 different heat temperatures, which is quite overwhelming. We tried resetting the unit, but we realized the furnace isn’t a gas unit—it uses a boiler valve for the heating element.
The Nest has the following wires connected: G, Y1, RC, and W1. We didn’t make any changes to the wiring. Our main goal is to program the Nest to work seamlessly with this system. I’ve heard that central boiler systems can be a bit tricky, especially when it comes to compatibility with smart thermostats.
Has anyone else encountered a similar setup? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips or tricks you might have for getting the Nest to work with a boiler system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
