While I love the G400 because of its PoE connection, I would love to see a direct wired connection between the video doorbell and the indoor chime, and not this wireless connection. It reduces a lot of latency between both and increase efficiency and reliability.
As a workaround, I think you can utilize the PoE version of S1 Plus (released in China mainland along with the G400 doorbell, so should get out soon) as the chime… This will give you a fully wired connection with controllable latency.
PoE-powered G400 no longer relies on the chime as a relay, so I believe it should be able to work without the original chime. Wired connection for such tiny chimes are overkill for most people IMHO.
Oh, I didn’t know a PoE version of the S1 Plus was released. So, how does the PoE work with the mains AC power connection as a relay switch? I have the international version of the S1 Plus, and it’s connected as 2 gang switches for my lights.
Is the G400 also expected to be an Aqara Hub with Matter, Thread, and Zigbee support? Thank you.
@mattpackard You seem to be experiencing an issue with whether the G400 is an Aqara Hub with Matter, Thread, and Zigbee support. You can contact customer support for assistance. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:
This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.
The G410 doesn’t NEED a battery. You can run it from a power adapter.
