New Feature Alert! 📢 W200 Follow Presence: Smart Comfort That Knows Where You Are

We hope you’re all enjoying your smart home setups! We’re back with another exciting update for the Thermostat Hub W200 that we think you’re going to love.

What is “Follow Presence”?

This feature allows you to connect your Aqara temperature, humidity, and presence sensors directly to the W200. Once set up, the thermostat becomes much more “aware.” When the system detects occupancy in a specific room, it automatically prioritizes the sensor data from that room.

The result? More responsive comfort that literally follows you around the house. :man_running::dash:

How it works

  • Smart Prioritization: If you’re in the bedroom, the W200 focuses on the bedroom’s climate data to adjust your HVAC.
  • Customized Logic: If multiple people are in different rooms, you can choose how the system reacts—whether it calculates the Average, Maximum, or Minimum temperature across those occupied spaces.
  • Priority Rooms: You can even set a specific room as a “Priority” so the system always ensures that area stays perfect whenever someone is there.

To enjoy this new feature, please make sure to update your Thermostat Hub W200 to firmware version 4.5.49_0002 or higher.

Question, does the sensors have to be removed from your M3 bridge and be connected to the W200?

They do not. I have a W200 and M3 in my apartment for Aqara hubs. Almost all of my sensors are linked to the M3, but I’ve used a W100 and FP300 and can confirm that the W200 does read the proper sensors for temp and humidity even if they’re connected to the M3. I’ve been blown away with how many options there are compared to the old Honeywell T5 thermostat I was using before. :grin:
