Hi everyone, I’m new to the world of Homey and I just got my Homey Pro (2023) yesterday. I’m really excited to start exploring all the possibilities it offers! One thing I wanted to try right away was setting up a flow that reminds me if the fridge door stays open for more than 30 seconds. I have a Miele fridge, and I downloaded the respective Miele app which has some useful cards. I also found a countdown app to help with timing.
So, here’s what I did: I created a flow that starts a countdown timer when the fridge door opens. The idea was that if the door remains open for 30 seconds, the timer would go off, and I’d get a notification on my phone and a message through my Sonos speakers. It seemed pretty straightforward, but there was a hiccup. The notifications were happening almost immediately after opening the door, which wasn’t what I wanted.
I took a screenshot of my flow and shared it with the community, hoping someone could help me tweak it. The response was amazing! I got some really helpful tips, like adjusting the countdown logic and ensuring the flow wasn’t triggering too quickly. It was a great learning experience, and I’m now confident in my ability to create more complex flows in the future.
