Hey everyone, I’m a new user to this forum and I’m really excited to dive into the world of smart home automation! I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi 5, thinking it would be the perfect device to run Home Assistant for my dad, but I ran into a bit of a snag when setting it up. The network port lights weren’t lighting up and I couldn’t connect it to my network at all. After some troubleshooting, I realized I didn’t have a micro HDMI cable to connect it to a screen, which made things a bit tricky. But I managed to figure it out with some online help and now it’s up and running smoothly!
Now, I’m looking to integrate a local weather station into my setup. I’ve tried several API-based services before, but since the closest station is quite far from my location, it often doesn’t reflect the actual weather conditions at my house. I came across Ambient Weather and it seems like a solid option, but there are so many packages to choose from on their website. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with Ambient Weather and could recommend the optimal package for my needs. I don’t need a display screen since I plan to view all my data through Home Assistant.
I’m also curious if anyone has tips on setting up a reliable network connection for the Raspberry Pi 5. I want to make sure I don’t run into any connectivity issues in the future. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to learning more from this amazing community!
Best regards,
