New Year's Countdown DIY and Smart Lighting Tips

As the New Year approaches, I wanted to share my DIY countdown timer setup for New Year’s Eve! :tada: It’s a fun way to get everyone in the festive spirit. Here’s how I did it:

  1. Setup: I used a simple timer set to 11:59 PM. The countdown starts at 11:59:50 PM and lasts about 1 minute and 30 seconds before repeating. This gives you enough time to reset it if needed.

  2. Integration: Pairing it with my smart lights, I created a synchronized light show that pulses in time with the countdown. It adds a dramatic touch to the celebration!

  3. Tips: If you’re planning something similar, make sure to test the timing and light sequences a few days in advance. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase your smart home setup to friends and family!

On a different note, I’ve been experimenting with smart lighting in my living room. After some research, I decided to go with a mix of smart bulbs and track lighting. The track lighting allows me to direct the light exactly where I need it, while the smart bulbs add a touch of ambiance. Plus, having wall controls makes everything so much more convenient!

If anyone has tips on creating custom light scenes or integrating countdown timers, I’d love to hear them! Happy New Year preparations everyone! :fireworks::sparkles:
