Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating a Niko EasyWave module into my Homey setup. I’ve been curious about expanding my smart home ecosystem, and the Niko module seemed like a great way to add some legacy lighting controls to the mix. However, I hit a bit of a snag at first—when I downloaded the Niko app, it only recognized lighting and thermostat controls, leaving the ventilation system I had in mind out in the cold. But I wasn’t ready to give up just yet!
After some digging through forums and reaching out to the community, I discovered that while the Niko app itself might not support all functionalities, Homey’s flexibility could be the key to unlocking more features. I decided to give it another shot, this time focusing on Homey’s integration capabilities rather than relying solely on the Niko app.
Here’s what worked for me: I paired the Niko module with my Homey and set up custom scenes that combined ventilation with lighting adjustments. It wasn’t straightforward, but with some trial and error, I managed to create a seamless experience. For example, I programmed the module to turn on the ventilation fan when I activate a specific light scene in the living room. It’s a small touch, but it adds a layer of convenience I hadn’t anticipated.
