Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience with setting up a sunrise automation using a non Hue LED COB strip. After experimenting with the Alexa app, I realized it was a bit cumbersome and decided to explore other options.
Here’s what I did: I connected the LED strip to a Zigbee controller, which is then linked through a Hue bridge. The goal was to create a seamless wake-up experience without the hassle of manual adjustments.
Initially, I faced a minor issue where the LED strip would wake me up at full brightness before gradually dimming. To fix this, I set up another automation to dim the strip to 1% warm light every night. This way, the sunrise automation starts from a soft glow, making the transition much more pleasant.
