The notifications coming from my G5 outdoor cameras have been lagging by 30 minutes. Any idea what could be causing this? I have a total of 7 cameras and they all send notifications 30 minutes after the event happen.
I’ve noticed this too. I have an Aqara G410 camera hub and the notifications are also delayed by about 30 minutes compared to Homekit.
Any thoughts @AqaraOfficial?
Hello, please contact support with your question.
Push notifications are sent through Apple server. So I think Apple Home having faster notifications is also related to the fact that Apple uses their own servers to send them and deliver to your phone, while Aqara has to use their own cloud and then send them to Apple and then Apple delivers them to your phone.
So delays may be related to high traffic in Aqara cloud or just Apple having high third-party traffic and slowing down things.
Apple Home may also be also utilizing local push connectivity, and Aqara (and many other companies) don’t use that feature (yet)
Makes sense but also seems strange since they were fine before the last update. Maybe this is something they can resolve in another update. Fingers crossed!
Yesterday all my G5 Pro camera notifications were an hour and a half late. It’s not your cameras or your network. I would not look for any solutions because it has nothing to do with your equipment or your network.
Wait it out or if it really bothers you log out of the Aqara app and use Apple Home for notifications. The Aqara servers will return back to normal soon enough.
Occasionally it happens and it’s best to recognize it and wait it out.
Glad to know I wasn’t going crazy!
Thanks for the update!
