Notifications disable on arriving home

We need a way to disable or turn off notifications from the cameras. Ideally, granular. Eg. turn off Visual Change notification.
More importantly, turn off all camera notifications when I arrive home and turn on when I leave. It is pain getting alerts every time I step in front of my camera.

Likewise, turn off I am home but on between 12am
And 5am.

Please add.

What camera or cameras do you have at home?

Using the G5 Pro as an example, you can go to Settings → AI Detection → Person Detection (or any other option) → Detection Period to set a time frame for when notifications and video recordings should occur.

You can also set up an automation in the Aqara Home app:

  • IF: Time → Repeat: Monday-Friday → Time: 5:00 AM–12:00 PM
THEN: Camera → Turn off motion detection
  • IF: Time → Repeat: Monday-Friday → Time: 12:00–05:00
THEN: Camera → Turn on motion detection
  • IF: Geofencing → Last to leave the area
THEN: Camera → Turn on motion detection
  • IF: Geofencing → First to arrive the area
THEN: Camera → Turn off motion detection

However, the automation features don’t work on some cameras because not all actions are available. For example, the G410 doesn’t have an option to enable or disable linger detection.

That said, you have to do this separately for each detection setting. Plus, that also turns off recording. Did you just want to turn off the notifications?

If you’re just referring to notifications, check the camera settings to see if you can find the option Notification → Notification Preferences → Notification Schedule. If you enable this option, you should be able to set a time under Notification Period for when all notifications should be sent.

Oh, and if you have an iPhone and want to turn off all notifications from the Aqara Home app, you can do that, too.

Go to Settings and search for Focus, tap the plus sign in the top-right corner, select Custom, and give it a name like “Home”. Then, under Silence Notifications, you can select individual apps (such as Aqara Home) that you want to silence. And under Set a Schedule → Add Schedule, you can set a time and/or location for when this Focus mode should be automatically activated.

Hello and welcome to the forum.i do not think you can do that base on automations but you can do automations base on the detections lets say that when you get home the camera to stop detecting persons this way you can turn off person and movement detection when you are at home same you can do when you go out my be @gafich10 hace some lesson to how to make them

Thanks John. The issue is I want to keep recording if something happens.

I’ll look at the Apple feature as a work around but prefer this be baked into the G5 camera feature.

However, the ai notification for ignoring Visual change would be good to turn off and leave everything else on. I suppose just more granular settings would be useful within their app…

I did try Apple Home to set to Home and Away and disable but that didn’t work.

I will try the Focus mode and see how I go with that.

Thanks

What do you think about turning off all notifications in the camera settings and instead triggering notifications only through automations? For example, like this:

  • IF: Camera → Linger detect
  • AND: Geofence → Completely outside the region
  • THEN: Notifications and Alerts → Push Notification → Customize Notification
(Then click the three dots and, under “Acting Time”, set the desired time for when the notification should be sent / This also works in the same way under the IF condition)

Hi John,

That could work. Any chance of sending a screenshot or short screen recording show this option?

Thanks
Glenn

Hello, welcome to the forum.
The notification problem can be solved much easier. You need to set up the “away from home” mode signals for those notifications that you need to receive. After enabling the “away from home” mode, you will receive alarm signals when events are triggered. As soon as you disable the “away from home” mode, notifications will stop coming to you, and the camera log will continue to record all the events you selected.
You can set the On/Off period of the security using Automation 2.0.
I have considered the deployed security mode in special lessons. Lesson 1 Setting up the security system APP (adding a card with a security panel) - #2 by JohnD

If you want to make it complicated:

Otherwise, I’d recommend gafich10 suggestion
