Hey everyone, I’m trying to reconnect my old Echo Dot (Gen 2) from 2017, which has been unplugged for over three years. I remember setting it up back then involved connecting my iPhone to a local network generated by the Echo Dot called ‘Amazon-TU6’. I managed to get through the initial setup steps, but when I tried to complete the process in the Alexa app, it wouldn’t work because I was no longer connected to my home Wi-Fi. I suspect the device might have missed critical firmware updates over the years, which could have changed the setup procedure.
I’ve tried following online guides suggesting I visit alexa.amazon.com to connect, but all I get is a QR code that just redirects me back to the app. This seems like an outdated method. I also have a Gen 1 Echo facing the same issue, so I’m hoping any solution will work for both.
Has anyone else had success reconnecting old Echo devices? Any tips or alternative methods would be greatly appreciated. I’m really hoping to get these devices working again without having to buy new ones!
