OpenHAB 4.2 Upgrade Experience and Orphan Links Puzzle

After months of anticipation, I finally upgraded my OpenHAB setup from version 3.x to 4.2, and I must say, the journey was worth it! The interface feels smoother, and I’ve noticed some fantastic new features that have already started enhancing my daily routines. However, as with any major upgrade, there’s always that one hiccup that keeps you scratching your head—and for me, it’s the infamous Health Check message about 125 orphan links.

Let me start by saying that everything else is running like clockwork. My devices are responding as they should, and my automations are back to their usual rhythm. But these orphan links are like a persistent guest who just won’t leave. I’ve tried deleting them as suggested by the software, only to find myself setting everything up again. It’s a bit of a loop, to be honest.

I’m curious if others have encountered this and how they’ve managed to resolve it without losing any configurations. Is there a more efficient way to tackle these orphan links, or is there a deeper issue I might be overlooking? Any insights or experiences would be invaluable as I try to get this sorted out.

On a brighter note, I’m truly impressed with how OpenHAB 4.2 has streamlined my smart home setup. The upgrade was smooth, and the added functionalities are a great improvement. I’m excited to explore more as I navigate through this minor hiccup. Thanks to the community for all the support and wisdom shared! Here’s to a smarter, more connected home!
