Hello everyone, I’ve been using OpenHAB2 on my Ubuntu server for a while now, and I’ve really enjoyed the flexibility it offers. However, I recently ran into a bit of a snag after updating to the latest snapshot. Let me share my experience in case others are facing similar issues or have insights to offer.
Earlier this week, I decided to update my system as part of routine maintenance. I updated Ubuntu, which included a new Java JDK 8 update, and then proceeded to update OpenHAB2 to snapshot #1595. The update seemed to go smoothly at first glance, but upon restarting OpenHAB, I noticed that nearly all my bindings and UIs weren’t loading properly. This was quite unexpected, as I hadn’t encountered such issues in previous updates.
I tried reverting back to the older version, #1589, hoping that would resolve the problem. Unfortunately, the same issue persisted, which was perplexing. I decided to dig deeper and used the bundle:list command in the console to see what was happening. The output showed that while some bundles were active, many critical ones, especially those related to UIs and core functionalities, were either unresolved or not functioning as expected.
This situation has left me temporarily unable to use OpenHAB as effectively as before. I’m reaching out to the community to see if others have encountered similar issues or have any troubleshooting steps that might help. Have you had success with the latest snapshot? Did you encounter any similar problems, and if so, how did you resolve them?
I’m particularly curious if there are known issues with the latest snapshot that I might not be aware of. Additionally, I’d love to hear if others have strategies for managing updates and rollbacks more smoothly. Your insights and experiences would be invaluable as I work to resolve this issue.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you all and hopefully getting OpenHAB back up and running smoothly!
