Optimizing Battery Life and Device Connectivity

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into optimizing my smart home setup lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all. First off, I’ve been working on minimizing the operating current of my Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 devices. Currently, my setup is averaging around 600uA, but I’m aiming to get it down to about 120uA. I’ve tried turning off unused peripherals and optimizing the power management settings, but I’m still not hitting that target. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for reducing power consumption further? I’d love to hear your strategies!

On another note, I’ve been having some connectivity issues with my GE Link bulbs. They’ve been dropping off my system randomly, and it’s been a real pain to have to re-pair them every time. I’ve heard that using the Hue ecosystem might help, but I’m not sure how to integrate that smoothly. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a reliable workaround?

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with creating custom widgets in openHAB to better visualize my home automation data. I managed to set up a gauge widget to monitor my heat pump’s performance, which has been super helpful. If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share the code and walk you through the process. It’s been a great way to keep everything organized and easy to understand at a glance.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on these topics! Whether it’s about power optimization, connectivity issues, or widget creation, your insights are invaluable. Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other out in making our smart homes even smarter!
