Hey everyone, I just got my Wyze outdoor camera set up, and I’m really impressed with how easy the installation was. However, after just three days, the battery has already dropped to 85%, which is a bit concerning. I was hoping to get closer to the 3-6 month mark, so I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or if there are some settings I can tweak to optimize battery life.
Currently, I have the detection range set to far and sensitivity at 100. I’ve noticed it’s picking up a lot of tree movements, which I assume is why the battery is draining faster. I’ve also set it to person detection mode, but I’m not sure if that’s the most efficient setting for my setup. Should I consider putting the camera on a timer to only active it during certain times of the day, like at night, to conserve battery life?
I’ve also heard about the importance of proper placement and minimizing unnecessary motion triggers. Does anyone have any tips on how to fine-tune these settings or perhaps recommend additional accessories that could help extend battery life? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
On a lighter note, I also installed the little hat that came with the camera. It’s a fun little touch, and I’m curious if others have done the same or have any creative ways to customize their cameras while keeping them functional. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out with these smart home gadgets! ![]()
