I’ve been experimenting with optimizing my boiler and smart thermostat settings to find the most cost-effective and efficient way to heat my home. My setup includes a Worcester Bosch Greenstar i24 Junior boiler and Tado radiator and thermostats throughout the house. I’ve noticed that certain rooms, like the kitchen, tend to be colder due to its location in an extension, so I’ve set it to maintain a specific target temperature when other rooms are heating. One thing I’m curious about is whether it’s more efficient to keep the boiler dial on a lower setting and let the rooms heat all day to their target temperatures or to have it on a higher setting and heat the house twice a day. I’ve also started using Home Assistant to turn on a fan in my bedroom to help circulate heat more effectively since the radiator there isn’t as efficient. Has anyone else found a sweet spot for boiler and thermostat settings that balances comfort and energy efficiency? I’d love to hear your tips and experiences!
