As a homeowner who recently upgraded to a smart home system, I’ve been exploring ways to minimize false alarms from my fire sensors. False alarms can be quite disruptive, especially when they occur due to everyday activities like cooking or doing renovations. I came across the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 and Alarm.com platforms, and I’m curious to know if there’s a way to implement a delay feature similar to burglary alarms. This delay would give me a chance to address the issue before the fire department is notified, which would be incredibly helpful.
I’ve reached out to my central monitoring service to see if they can add a note to my account to call me first in such situations. However, I’m also looking into whether the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 or Alarm.com side can be configured to add this delay. If anyone has experience with this or knows of a workaround, I’d love to hear about it!
In the meantime, I’ve been using Govee sensors for my air purifiers, and their support team has been fantastic. They helped me troubleshoot an issue where one of my sensors wouldn’t hold the Wi-Fi connection and even replaced the unit for me. It’s experiences like these that make me appreciate the importance of reliable smart home devices.
If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing fire alarm systems or minimizing false alarms, please share them! I’m always looking for ways to make my smart home setup more efficient and user-friendly. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out!
