Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with optimizing flood sensors to ensure they provide the right kind of alerts without causing unnecessary stress. Last week, I encountered a situation where my Honeywell Ademco 5821 flood/temp sensor triggered the standard intrusion siren during a false alarm. While it’s great that the system is active, the intrusion siren felt a bit overwhelming for something that turned out to be a false alarm.
I’ve been researching ways to adjust the alert system to differentiate between critical emergencies and minor issues. After some digging, I found that configuring the system to send a problem notification instead of the intrusion siren could be a better approach. This way, I can address the issue calmly without feeling like I’m in immediate danger.
If anyone has tips or tricks on how to set this up effectively, I’d love to hear them! It’s all about finding that balance between safety and peace of mind. ![]()
