I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my Govee lighting setup! The vibrant colors and smooth transitions have completely transformed my living space. I wanted to share how I’ve been using the Calendar Switch Y2 blueprint to automate my lighting based on my schedule, and I’d love to hear others’ experiences too!
After setting up my Govee lights, I decided to take it a step further by integrating them with my calendar. The idea was to have my lights adjust automatically based on whether I’m at home or not. For example, when I’m away, the lights dim to a soft glow for security, and when I’m back, they brighten up to create a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve also set up different scenes for different times of the day—like a relaxing evening mode and a energizing morning wake-up light.
However, I did run into a small hiccup when setting up the automation. The logging service wasn’t working as expected, and I had to do a bit of troubleshooting. It turned out I needed to adjust the service configuration in my configuration.yaml file. Once that was sorted, everything worked like a charm!
One thing I’d love to see in the future is the ability to edit preset scenes directly in the app. It would be amazing to tweak colors and brightness without having to go through multiple steps. Fingers crossed that’s on the roadmap!
If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing their lighting setup or calendar integrations, I’d love to hear them. Let’s share our smart home hacks and make our homes even smarter together! ![]()
