Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience optimizing my Homey setup for better device integration and automation. After experimenting with various devices, I noticed some challenges that I thought others might find helpful to hear about.
First, I’ve been working with Shelly devices, particularly the Shelly 2PM for controlling my roller blinds. While the device itself works flawlessly, I noticed that the status messages from the Shelly app weren’t syncing with my Homey interface. This was a bit puzzling because the device was clearly functioning, yet the status updates were missing. After some research, I discovered that adjusting the flow settings in Homey could help bridge this gap. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but seeing the status updates finally align has been really satisfying!
Another area I’ve been exploring is integrating multiple Homey Bridges across different parts of my home. I’ve noticed that while communication between the Homey Pro and the Bridges is solid, there can sometimes be hiccups with Zigbee devices, especially when they’re in separate rooms. Moving the Homey Pro closer to the Bridges helped improve connectivity, which was a simple yet effective fix. It’s reminded me how important placement can be in ensuring smooth operation.
On a lighter note, I’ve been really impressed with the Shelly Pro 4PM’s energy measurement capabilities. It’s fascinating to see how detailed the data can be, and I’ve been experimenting with different setups to get the most out of it. While there are still some nuances to understand, the potential for energy optimization is huge.
I’d love to hear from others about their experiences with Homey and device integration. Have you encountered similar challenges? What tips or tricks have you found useful? Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most out of our smart home setups!
