Optimizing Motion Detection with Wyze Floodlights

I recently installed the Wyze Floodlight Cam and it’s been a game-changer for my outdoor security setup. However, I’ve noticed some quirks with the motion detection that I wanted to share and get some feedback on.

One issue I’m facing is false motion alerts triggered by a flag that’s blowing in the wind near my driveway. I’ve tried using detection zones to minimize this, but it seems the PIR sensor on the floodlight itself is still picking up the movement. This causes the floodlight to turn on, which in turn triggers the camera’s motion detection. It’s a bit of a loop!

For now, I’ve set the floodlight to only trigger based on camera detections, but I’m curious if others have found a better way to balance the PIR sensor and camera alerts. Maybe adjusting the camera angle or moving the flag could help? I’m also wondering if small pests like bugs could be contributing to the false triggers.

On a positive note, the floodlight’s brightness and clarity are fantastic, especially at night. It’s given me peace of mind knowing I can monitor my property effectively. I’d love to hear how others have optimized their floodlight setups to reduce false positives while maintaining reliability.

If anyone has tips or tricks, please share! It would be great to find a solution that keeps the floodlights smart without being overly sensitive.
