I’ve been experimenting with my motion sensor setup to create a seamless experience, and I wanted to share my journey and ask for some advice.
Initially, I set up my motion sensors to trigger lights automatically when movement is detected. However, I noticed an issue where manually turning off the lights caused the automation to malfunction. It would take several minutes before the motion sensor would reactivate the lights, which was quite inconvenient.
After some research, I discovered that adjusting the automation settings could help. I tinkered with the delay times and even considered integrating a secondary automation to handle the manual switch-off scenario. While I managed to improve the responsiveness, it’s still not perfect.
Here’s what I’m curious about: Is there a more elegant way to handle the transition from manual to automated control? Perhaps incorporating a state variable that tracks whether the lights were manually turned off and then using that to reset the automation?
I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar issues. Have you found a reliable method to ensure smooth transitions between manual and automated light controls? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!
