Another project I’ve been working on is setting up custom domains for my Home Assistant instance. I’ve followed the guide mentioned in topic 7 and it worked like a charm! By setting up a CNAME record and using Let’s Encrypt for SSL, I was able to access my Home Assistant instance using my own domain. It’s such a neat way to have a professional-looking URL for my smart home setup. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking to customize their Home Assistant URL!
On the topic of automation, I’ve also been experimenting with using timers and variables to handle button hold events on my IKEA Tradfri remote. While my current setup works, I’m curious if there’s a more elegant way to handle repeated actions during a button hold. If anyone has any tips or alternative approaches, I’d love to hear them!
