Optimizing Smart Home Notifications for Better User Experience

As a long-time user of the SmartThings ecosystem, I’ve always been impressed by its versatility and the sheer number of devices it supports. However, as my setup has grown, I’ve noticed that the notifications I receive have become overwhelming. Many of them are irrelevant, especially from my multi-sensors that detect temperature changes. I live in Texas, where temperature fluctuations are a daily occurrence, so getting notified every time the temperature changes is not only unnecessary but also frustrating.

I’d love to find a way to customize these notifications so that I only receive alerts when the door is actually opened, rather than every time the temperature changes. Additionally, I’d like to rename the notifications to something more descriptive, like “Front Door Open” instead of just “Open Door.” This would make it much easier to understand which part of my home is being referenced in the notification.

I’ve tried searching the forums and experimenting with different settings, but I haven’t found a solution yet. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing notifications or customizing their names, I’d be thrilled to hear about them! Let’s work together to make smart home notifications as seamless and user-friendly as possible.
