Optimizing Smart Lighting and Temperature Control

Hi everyone, I’ve recently been diving into optimizing my smart home setup, particularly focusing on lighting and temperature control. It’s been an exciting journey, but there have been a few bumps along the way!

Starting with lighting, I’ve been experimenting with different types of smart bulbs and dimmers. I recently came across the Shelly Dimmer 2, which seems to be a great budget-friendly option for controlling both traditional lights and smart bulbs. However, I’ve also been curious about integrating Zigbee devices, like the RobbSmart dimmer mentioned in some posts. While I managed to get it working with individual lamps, getting it to control a group of Hue lights has been a bit tricky. I’m still exploring flows and settings to make this seamless—any tips from the community would be invaluable!

On the temperature front, I’ve been using the Nest Thermostat, but I’ve noticed it tends to adjust the temperature more than I’d like, especially with radiant heat. I’ve been trying to figure out how to set it and forget it, as radiant heat doesn’t handle frequent adjustments well. I’ve read about disabling certain features or setting fixed temperature ranges, but I’m not entirely sure which approach will work best. If anyone has successfully set up their Nest for radiant heat, I’d love to hear about your setup!

One thing I’ve learned is the importance of compatibility and integration. For example, using the Hue bridge alongside Zigbee devices has its pros and cons, and I’m still figuring out the best way to manage everything from one interface. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to see how much further I can optimize my system.

I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with lighting and temperature control. What tools, apps, or settings have worked best for you? Any favorite devices or configurations that make daily life more comfortable and energy-efficient? Let’s keep the conversation going!

Happy smart home tweaking, everyone! :rocket::bulb:
