Optimizing Smart Lighting Without Additional Hardware

Hey everyone,

I’m really excited to share my journey and see if anyone else has tackled a similar challenge. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to control my smart lights without using additional buttons or switches. The issue is simple yet frustrating: I want to keep my aesthetic clean but still have full control over my lights.

Here’s the setup: I have traditional push-button switches in my house, and I’d love to keep them as they are. But I also want them to work seamlessly with my smart lighting system. The catch is that I don’t want these switches to force the lights to stay on. I want them to act as a relay, controlled both by the switch and through my app or Home Assistant.

I’ve come across some smart relays that claim to solve this problem, but most of them don’t support dimming. Since I have LED lights, I’d like to adjust the brightness using my phone, even if the switch itself can’t dim. This seems like a feasible solution, but I’m not sure if there’s a product out there that does both: acts as a smart relay and supports dimming through an app.

I’ve also considered using smart bulbs that can be controlled via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, but they often require additional hubs or complicated setups. I’m hoping there’s a simpler, more integrated solution that doesn’t involve adding more hardware to my home.

If anyone has successfully set up a similar system or has recommendations, I’d love to hear about it! Maybe there’s a clever workaround or a product I haven’t discovered yet.

Thanks for your insights and suggestions!
