Optimizing Wyze Outdoor Camera Battery Life: Tips and Tricks

Hey everyone, I’ve recently set up a Wyze Outdoor Camera and I’m really impressed with how easy the installation process was. However, I’ve noticed that the battery life isn’t quite what I expected. Just three days in, the battery is already at 85%, which makes me worry it won’t last the promised 3-6 months. I’m curious if anyone has tips or settings adjustments that could help extend the battery life.

I’ve set the detection range to far and sensitivity to 100, but I’ve noticed it’s picking up a lot of tree movements, even though I’ve enabled person detection. Should I consider setting a timer to have the camera only active during certain times of the day? I’ve heard that can help conserve battery life.

Another thing I’m wondering about is the little hat that came with the camera. I installed mine with it, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary or if it affects performance. Has anyone else tried using it?

I’d love to hear your experiences and any tricks you’ve found to optimize battery life. Let’s share our knowledge and make the most out of these cameras! Thanks in advance for your insights.
