I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting with my collection of Zooz switches, and it’s been an enlightening journey!
I’ve set up a system where my outdoor lights dim gradually as sunset approaches, using Rule Machine to trigger the sequence three times to ensure reliability. While this setup works beautifully most of the time, I’ve noticed occasional hiccups where a light might not turn on as expected.
When this happens, a quick on/off cycle in the Hubitat app usually sorts it out, but it’s a bit of a nuisance. I suspect it’s related to the Z-Wave mesh—some switches might be in a low-power sleep mode and need a nudge to wake up.
I’d love to hear if others have encountered similar behavior and how they’ve tackled it. Have you found ways to make your Z-Wave devices more responsive? Maybe some mesh optimization tips or firmware updates that could help? Let’s share our experiences and tricks to make these systems as seamless as possible! ![]()
