I’ve been exploring the world of Zigbee in my smart home setup, and I’m really curious about how to optimize the network performance. I’ve noticed that the signal strength indicators show varying numbers, sometimes in pairs like xx/xx, and I’m wondering what these exactly mean. Is the first number the signal quality from the coordinator to the device, and the second from the device back to the coordinator? Also, I’ve observed that the lines representing connections are colored differently—green, red, and gray. Does green mean strong, red weak, and gray moderate signal quality?
I’ve tried moving my Zigbee coordinator closer to my devices, but the results are inconsistent. Some devices still show fluctuating signal strengths, especially those farther away from the coordinator. I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully optimized their Zigbee networks. What steps did you take? Did you use any specific tools or settings within Home Assistant to improve the network? Any tips on placement or additional hardware would be incredibly helpful.
I’m also considering upgrading to a more powerful Zigbee coordinator, like the SLZB-06M, to enhance coverage. Would this be a good move, or should I stick with my current setup? I’m eager to learn more and ensure all my devices are reliably connected. Thanks in advance for your insights and advice!
