Organizing Smart Lighting Scenes Across Multiple Rooms

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to the community for some tips on organizing my smart lighting scenes. I’ve been using HomeKit for a while now, but as my setup has grown, I’ve found myself overwhelmed with the number of scenes I’ve created over time. I currently have multiple rooms with various smart lights, including bulbs, strips, and plugs, all set up with their own scenes. While this setup worked well when I had fewer devices, it’s now become a bit of a management nightmare.

I’m looking for some best practices to streamline my scenes, particularly around basic routines like mornings, evenings, nights, and mood settings. I want to declutter without losing the functionality I value. One thing I’ve realized is the importance of using clear and consistent naming conventions for my scenes to make them easier to identify and edit in the future.

I’ve noticed that I’ve reached a limit on creating new scenes and automations, which is another sign that I need to revisit how I’m organizing everything. My goal is to make the process of setting up scenes more efficient so I don’t have to manually adjust lights every time I want to set a particular mood or routine.

Has anyone else gone through a similar process of decluttering and reorganizing their smart home scenes? I’d love to hear any tips or strategies you’ve found effective. Whether it’s a specific method you’ve used or just general advice on how to approach this, I’m all ears. Let’s make our smart homes smarter and more user-friendly together!
