I’ve recently installed the Orvibo Switch in a 3-way setup, and I wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is tackling a similar project. First, I must admit, the process was a bit confusing at first, especially with the specific wiring instructions mentioned on the switch. The label clearly stated it’s for 3-way installations only, but I struggled to find comprehensive online resources.
After some trial and error, here’s what worked for me. I connected the traveler wire from both switches, ensuring they were properly aligned. Initially, I thought using two smart switches would suffice, but they didn’t communicate as expected. The breakthrough came when I realized one switch needed to act as a master, controlling the other as a slave. This setup required adjusting the wiring to ensure the traveler wires were correctly paired.
I also experimented with the app settings, tweaking the automation rules to ensure both switches worked in harmony. It’s crucial to test each switch individually before integrating them into a 3-way configuration.
