OSRAM Smart+ LED Color Temperature Control in HA

Hi everyone,

I’m really enjoying the process of migrating my home automation setup from Deutsche Telekom’s Magenta Smarthome (MSH) to Home Assistant (HA). It’s been a great journey so far, and I’m excited to share some of my experiences with you.

I’ve successfully integrated HA with RaspberryMatic, and my IKEA Smart Home devices are working perfectly alongside it. I’ve also managed to migrate several devices and remote controls, such as the HMIP-RC8, and even set up some basic automations. It’s been a lot of fun experimenting with all the possibilities HA offers!

One of the highlights of this migration has been the integration of my OSRAM 816619 Smart+ LED ZigBee GU10 bulbs. These bulbs were previously part of my MSH setup, and I was thrilled to see them work seamlessly with HA using a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus. Detecting and integrating the bulbs was straightforward, and I can easily control them to turn on, off, and adjust their brightness using the HMIP-RC8 remote control.

However, there’s one feature that’s been eluding me: adjusting the color temperature of these bulbs. While the bulbs are capable of changing their color temperature, HA doesn’t seem to support this functionality. I’ve tried searching for solutions online, but I haven’t found any clear guidance on how to configure HA to enable this feature. If anyone has any tips, resources, or suggestions on how to resolve this, I’d be incredibly grateful!

Overall, I’m really impressed with HA’s capabilities and the flexibility it offers. It’s been a fantastic experience so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with HA. If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has advice to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Best regards,
Bernhard
