Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience setting up outdoor lighting automation! 
I’ve been experimenting with creating a system that turns on my outdoor lights 10 minutes before sunset and turns them off at 10:30 PM. It’s been a fun challenge, and I thought I’d walk through my process in case anyone else is looking to do something similar.
First, I set up a basic automation to turn the lights on at sunset minus 10 minutes. This ensures the path is well-lit as soon as it starts getting dark. Then, I added another trigger to turn them off at 10:30 PM to save energy overnight. But I also wanted some motion detection during the night, so I configured the lights to turn on if motion is detected between 10:30 PM and 5:00 AM. To prevent the lights from staying on indefinitely, I set a 5-minute timer that turns them off if no further motion is detected. This has worked beautifully!
